About this role:

The Engineering Team Lead is responsible for leading a cross-functional, full-stack engineering team delivering high-quality, scalable software across mobile and web platforms.

This role combines technical leadership with people management, guiding a team working across iOS, Android, Web (React), and backend services (.NET / C#). The Engineering Team Lead is accountable for ensuring strong engineering practices, high delivery standards, and alignment with product and business goals.

You will play a key role in shaping system architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving continuous improvement across development processes, tooling, and team performance. This position requires a balance of hands-on technical expertise, leadership capability, and strong collaboration with Product, Design, and other engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a cross-functional engineering team spanning backend (.NET/C#), web (React), and mobile (iOS & Android)
• Own delivery of technical solutions from design through to production, ensuring quality, scalability, and maintainability
• Provide technical direction on architecture, system design, and best practices
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to define and deliver roadmap priorities
• Mentor and develop engineers through coaching, feedback, and performance management
• Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD practices
• Ensure reliability, performance, and security of systems in production
• Identify and address technical debt while balancing delivery timelines
• Foster a strong team culture aligned with Ding’s values
• Support hiring, onboarding, and team growth as needed

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong technical background in C# / .NET and modern web frameworks (React)
• Experience working with or overseeing mobile platforms (iOS and Android)
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and scalable architecture
• Proven ability to lead and manage engineering teams
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Focus on quality, performance, and continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong exposure to backend and frontend development
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or team lead role
• Proven experience delivering complex, full-stack applications in a production environment
• Experience working with cloud-based architectures and modern development practices
• Track record of mentoring engineers and building high-performing teams
