About the Role:
The Senior Program Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stream programs spanning business and technology domains. The role ensures programs are delivered in alignment with strategic business objectives, agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Working in close partnership with Business Owners, Project Managers, Technical Leads, and Project Coordinators, the role provides strong program governance, risk and dependency management, financial oversight, and stakeholder engagement to drive successful outcomes and sustainable benefits realisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of programs and initiatives across business and technology domains, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, approved business cases, and value realisation targets.
- Define and manage program scope, schedules, dependencies, budgets, and performance metrics to ensure delivery to agreed baselines (scope, time, cost, and quality).
- Establish and maintain robust program governance, reporting rhythms, decision frameworks, and consolidated risk and issue management practices.
- Develop and manage program financial plans, including cost controls, forecasting, and financial impact assessments.
- Partner with Business Owners and senior stakeholders to plan and deliver transition into BAU, ensuring sustained benefits realisation through adoption, value tracking, and continuous improvement.
- Lead complex stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influence activities to achieve win-win outcomes and maximise value for the business and customers.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, integrating diverse perspectives to enable effective teamwork and program delivery.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and governance oversight to project and program teams, ensuring adherence to approved delivery methodologies and standards.
- Apply organisational change and delivery methodologies to support the successful implementation and embedding of initiatives.
- Ensure program artefacts, reporting, and documentation are current, accurate, and suitable for executive and governance forums.
- Drive collaboration across multiple workstreams, teams, and business areas to deliver agreed outcomes efficiently and effectively.
What do you need to succeed:
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs with budgets exceeding $5M.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, with preferred exposure to Retail or FMCG environments.
- Demonstrated success managing strategic business initiatives and large-scale transformation programs.
- Strong experience in budget management, vendor management, and financial governance.
- Proven capability in leading, coaching, and motivating project and program teams.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict constructively to achieve approved delivery outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including executive-level communication and influence.
- Close attention to detail with disciplined application of program governance frameworks.
