About the Role:
The Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of a single project across business and technology domains. This role ensures projects are delivered in alignment with strategic business objectives, agreed scope, timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Working closely with the Business Owner, Technical Project Lead, and Project Coordinator, the Project Manager defines the delivery strategy, manages risks, issues, and dependencies, oversees the project team, and ensures deliverables are transitioned effectively into business-as-usual operations, supporting benefits realisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and business priorities.
- Define project scope, approach, schedules, dependencies, and resourcing to ensure delivery to approved baselines (scope, time, cost, quality).
- Establish and maintain robust project governance, reporting, decision frameworks, and risk and issue management practices.
- Develop and manage project financials, including cost estimates, budgets, forecasting, and vendor management, supporting value realisation.
- Partner with Business Owners and key stakeholders to plan and deliver transition activities into BAU, ensuring sustained adoption and benefit realisation.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, negotiations, and influence activities to achieve win-win outcomes and maximise value for the business and its customers.
- Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships, integrating diverse perspectives to enable effective teamwork and project delivery.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to project team members, fostering accountability, high performance, and adherence to approved methodologies.
- Apply organisational change and delivery methodologies to support effective implementation and embedding of project outcomes.
- Ensure project artefacts, documentation, and governance reporting are accurate, current, and suitable for executive and governance forums.
What You Need to Succeed:
- Proven track record delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects with budgets exceeding $5M.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, preferably in Retail or FMCG.
- Experience in budget tracking, vendor management, and financial oversight in large, complex environments.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring capabilities for project teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, including experience with executive-level stakeholders.
- Ability to constructively resolve conflict to achieve approved project outcomes.
- Strong attention to detail and disciplined application of project governance frameworks.
- Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate qualification preferred.
- Advanced certifications desirable (e.g., PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, Agile Scrum Master).
- Deep understanding of organisational change and delivery methodologies, with experience applying them in complex project environments.
