Head of Service Innovation (IRE)

Origina
On-site
Sandyford Dublin Ireland

About Origina
Origina is a rapidly growing global challenger technology company on a mission to stop unnecessary technology change by helping enterprises to extend, protect and enhance their software assets. We believe organisations should be free to run their systems for as long as they choose - without being pushed into costly, unwanted upgrades that don’t align with their strategy, so we step in to provide an alternative from the original vendor.

We’re scaling fast, with a clear path to €0.5 billion in the next five years, and expanding our presence across Europe, the US, and Australia. As a leading force in independent enterprise software support, we help the world’s largest organisations take back control of their technology roadmap and unlock genuine commercial freedom.

If you’re energised by growth, excited by change, and motivated to help customers challenge long-standing industry norms, this is the team to join. At Origina, you’ll be part of a bold, fast-moving global business where your impact will be felt immediately.

The Role

Origina is building the next generation of enterprise services that help customers extend the life of critical software, reduce OEM dependency, and regain control of their technology estates. The Head of Service Innovation plays a central role in that mission.

This role exists to identify, incubate, and validate net-new service offerings that will fuel Origina’s future growth and differentiation. It is not a delivery role, and it is not about scaling services. Instead, it is about turning emerging market, regulatory, and technology shifts into credible, well-validated service concepts that the business can confidently invest in.

You will operate at the front edge of the organisation exploring new ideas, building MVPs and proofs, testing assumptions, and deciding what is worth taking forward and what should be stopped early.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Continuously scan the market for new service opportunities: These may come from OEM lifecycle changes (such as SAP, Broadcom, or Oracle), from regulatory pressure (NIS2, DORA, CRA, and similar), or from emerging gaps in security, resilience, interoperability, or digital sovereignty.
  • Lead incubation process for new opportunities: Shaping clear problem statements, designing service concepts, and building MVPs or feasibility proofs to test whether an idea is technically viable, commercially credible, and operationally realistic. You are expected to time-box innovation, avoid over-engineering, and be disciplined about killing ideas that do not stand up to scrutiny.
  • Designing service blueprints: These blueprints articulate what the service is, who it is for, why it matters, and what assumptions or dependencies must hold true. They are intentionally not delivery models. Your responsibility is to ensure that by the time a service is handed over, it has been validated well enough that the business understands both the upside and the risks.
  • Own Origina’s strategic OEM diversification efforts - the heavier-lift initiatives where entering a new OEM ecosystem or building a new retrofit capability requires real innovation and R&D: Where ideas are validated, you will prepare them for structured handover into Service Productisation & Enablement, along with a clear recommendation to proceed, pause, or stop.

About you

You are likely to come from an enterprise IT services, software, or platform background, with experience designing services rather than simply delivering them. You are comfortable operating in ambiguity, credible with technical and commercial stakeholders, and confident challenging OEM-centric assumptions. You are curious, structured, and decisive.

What Success Looks Like

  • High-quality innovation pipeline: Establish a steady flow of validated service concepts that are technically feasible, commercially credible, and operationally realistic.
  • Data-driven decision-making: Ensure every idea is rigorously assessed, with clear go/no-go recommendations supported by evidence.
  • “Kill discipline” in action: Weak or unviable concepts are stopped early, conserving resources and maintaining focus on high-impact opportunities.
  • Strategic OEM diversification: Identify and incubate new opportunities in emerging or untapped OEM ecosystems, creating differentiated value for Origina.
  • Validated MVPs and proofs: By the time services are handed over, concepts are fully tested, documented, and ready for smooth transition into Productisation & Enablement.
  • Reduced founder-led ad hoc innovation: Shift the organisation from opportunistic, reactive innovation to structured, predictable, and repeatable ideation.
  • Cross-functional credibility: Build trust with technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders by consistently delivering well-reasoned, actionable service concepts.
  • Impact on business growth: New validated service offerings contribute to Origina’s competitive differentiation, revenue potential, and global scaling strategy.

What This Role Is Not

This role does not own service delivery, pilots, BAU operations, Learning Management content, or sales execution. Your job is to prove the idea, not to run the service.
