As we enter our next stage of growth, we’re expanding our leadership team and looking for a Finance Director to lead the finance function, strengthen financial planning and controls, and act as a key strategic partner to the CEO and senior leadership team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll take ownership of finance at Barespace, ensuring the business has strong reporting, forecasting, and financial discipline as we continue to scale.
This role is suited to someone who combines strong financial leadership with a hands-on, commercial approach. We’re looking for a commercial operator who can build scalable finance systems, drive performance insight, and support strategic initiatives including international expansion and future fundraising.
This is an onsite role based in our Dublin HQ in the IFSC.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead the finance function end-to-end, ensuring strong governance, accuracy, and compliance
- Produce monthly management accounts, KPIs, and board-ready materials
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow planning across the business
- Build and maintain financial models to support growth planning, hiring, and strategic decision-making
- Support international expansion through financial planning, forecasting, and multi-market considerations
- Prepare the business for future fundraising by ensuring investor-ready reporting and robust financial visibility
- Drive improvements in unit economics as volume scales, including margin analysis and cost optimisation
- Track and report SaaS metrics including ARR, churn, CAC, LTV, retention, and gross margin
- Oversee payment and revenue processes, including Stripe reporting and reconciliation
- Improve internal controls, reporting structure, and scalable finance processes as the company grows
- Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners
- Oversee payroll processes and ensure compliance with Irish reporting requirements
- Partner with department heads to track spend, improve forecasting, and drive ROI
- Take ownership of finance systems, including our current platform Xero, and ensure processes are efficient and scalable
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior finance role (Finance Director, Head of Finance, or Financial Controller ready to step up)
- Strong experience scaling a finance function in an early-stage or high-growth business
- Excellent budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and reporting skills
- Strong commercial mindset, able to challenge decisions, improve performance, and drive operational efficiency
- Experience working with SaaS revenue models and subscription metrics is highly desirable
- Experience with Xero and Stripe is a strong advantage
- Fundraising experience (or experience supporting investor reporting and due diligence) is highly desirable
- Comfortable working directly with founders and operating at leadership level
- Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail, willing to get stuck into the day to day while building for scale
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualification preferred
