Position Overview

We’re seeking a Data Centre Field Technician to join our fast-growing, dynamic U.S. team based in Atlanta, GA.

In this role, you’ll be on the front line of Hanley Energy’s operations—installing, testing, and maintaining advanced automation and control systems at client data center sites. You will work on new construction and live projects, integrating automated systems that ensure 100% uptime, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.

This is a hands-on technical position ideal for someone who thrives in high-performance environments and enjoys solving complex challenges within the mission-critical infrastructure sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support installation, integration, and commissioning of control and monitoring systems
  • Perform checkout, testing, and troubleshooting of PLCs, HMIs, managed switches, PQMs, and other automation hardware
  • Work with Ignition SCADA systems and participate in Ignition training initiatives
  • Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and network drawings
  • Utilize Procore and other project management tools for site coordination and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to provide technical feedback and support design improvements
  • Ensure safe and efficient field operations across all project phases
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members to develop technical capability
  • Apply strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills in all tasks

Qualifications & Experience

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on technical experience in field service, controls, or electrical systems
  • Education or technical training equivalent to a 2-year STEM degree, trade school, or military technical background
  • Experience working with:
  • Data centers or mission-critical environments
  • PLC programming and HMI development
  • SCADA systems and network integration
  • Electrical schematics and troubleshooting

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of MODBUS and TCP/IP communication protocols
  • Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, Procore, and automation hardware setup
