You will work closely with our Product Lead, Product Manager, Engineers, and customer-facing teams to improve the HR Duo experience across web and mobile. You will turn customer problems, product ideas, and business requirements into clear user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. It is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys understanding real user needs and simplifying complex workflows.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with the Product Lead to shape user experience across the HR Duo platform.

• Design clear, intuitive user journeys for HR, line managers, employees, and administrators.

• Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity UI designs.

• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to bring features from concept through to delivery.

• Help simplify complex HR, workforce management, compliance, and reporting workflows.

• Gather feedback from internal teams, customers, and end users to inform design decisions.

• Support usability testing, discovery sessions, and customer research where appropriate.

• Maintain and improve consistency across the product interface.

• Contribute to the development of reusable design patterns and a design system.

• Review implemented features and work with engineers to refine the final user experience.

• Balance good design practice with commercial, technical, and customer constraints.

Key Skills and Competencies

• We are looking for someone who can combine strong design skills with a practical, user-focused mindset.

• At least 3 years experience working in a UI, UX, Product Design role with a portfolio of work, ideally for web or SaaS applications.

• Strong understanding of user-centred design principles with experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and interface designs.

• Ability to take complex processes and make them easier to understand and use.

• Strong attention to detail in layout, hierarchy, spacing, interaction, and usability.

• Comfortable working in an agile or iterative software development environment.

• Good communication skills and the ability to explain design decisions clearly.

Desirable experience:

• Experience with HR, workforce management, payroll, compliance, rostering, or time and attendance software.

• Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Miro, Jira, Confluence, or similar.

• Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system.

• Understanding of accessibility principles and WCAG guidance.

• Experience designing for mobile or responsive web applications.

• Experience conducting user interviews, usability testing, or customer research.
