About the Opportunity
We're building out our marketplace team and have two Practice Director opportunities open right now:
- Practice Director — HR Practice
- Practice Director — Finance Practice
You'll be one of the Australian Practice Directors, reporting directly to our Founder and CEO, Bridget Loudon. Organisations, particularly in the mid-market, turn to Expert360 to find HR or Finance professionals for contract, permanent, consulting, interim, or fractional work.
You'll put that offering into overdrive by deepening existing client relationships (primarily C-suite MidCap), building new ones, and partnering with Segment Leaders (e.g. PE Practice Leader, Mining Practice Leader) to bring functional expertise, originate briefs, and work with a talent delivery team to ensure clients receive the very best talent.
This role combines deep market expertise with strong commercial acumen, leveraging an established network of CEOs and client organisations to generate new business, manage key accounts, and deliver high-quality talent outcomes. It's a senior, market-facing role requiring proven search capability, consultative selling skills, and credibility with senior business leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Client Development & Sales
- Build, manage, and grow a portfolio of client relationships within your functional sector (HR or Finance)
- Originate and convert new executive and senior-level search opportunities
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on talent strategy, market insights, and organisational design
- Lead fee negotiations, proposal development, and commercial agreements
Delivery Oversight
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of client projects and jobs - checking in, seeking feedback, reshaping briefs or shortlists, and closing
- Partner with senior HR or Finance professionals on more complex projects
Market & Brand Leadership
- Maintain a strong and visible presence in your functional leadership market
- Build and nurture a high-quality candidate network of senior HR or Finance professionals
- Represent the firm at industry events and forums
- Provide regular market intelligence and thought leadership internally and externally
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with colleagues to land and expand opportunities
- Mentor and support junior consultants
- Contribute to the firm's growth strategy and practice development
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in executive search or senior recruitment, within HR / People & Culture or Finance / Accounting
- Strong sales and business development capability with a track record of winning and retaining clients
- Established network of functional leaders, candidates, and client organisations in your specialism
- Ability to operate credibly with C-suite and senior stakeholders
- Strong candidate assessment and interview capability
- Commercial mindset with strong negotiation skills
