Lead Quality Engineer — AI Platform
Remote · Ireland · Full-time
Our engineers ship AI-assisted code faster than traditional QA can keep up — and our users are barristers who can't afford a bug in front of a judge. We're hiring the person who makes that safe.
ABOUT TRIALVIEW
TrialView is a legaltech company building AI-powered tools for litigation, case preparation, and evidence review. Our users are barristers, solicitors, and litigators who rely on us in live cases and in court. A mis-tagged document, a broken link in a court bundle, or a wrongly grounded AI answer isn't a cosmetic bug here — it's a professional risk for our customers. That's what makes quality at TrialView genuinely matter.
THE ROLE
We're growing fast, shipping AI-assisted code at high velocity, and building generative AI features whose outputs are probabilistic by nature. We need someone who can scale quality faster than we scale code.
This is a hands-on lead role. You won't inherit a blank page — there's a real foundation already (a unit suite gating every deploy, a Playwright e2e suite, strict TypeScript, per-PR preview deployments) plus a layered quality programme rolling out now. Your job is to own that system, find where it's too coarse, and make it genuinely hard for a defect to reach a courtroom. You build the systems yourself, and you grow the team that runs them.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
• The release decision. Our gates let us ship daily — you own the criteria they enforce and personally arbitrate the releases that carry real risk, with the authority and the evidence to say "not yet."
• The frontend regression net (your first 90 days). Make the e2e suite a true gate, extend it to the interaction-level bugs that actually slip through, own visual regression, and select our durable E2E tooling.
• Artifact correctness. Programmatically verify exported court bundles — links resolve, pagination is right, bookmarks survive. When a firm hands our output to a judge, it must simply be correct.
• Expert exploratory testing, codified. Partner with our in-court evidence presenter — one of the sharpest manual testers we've seen — and turn what her judgment finds into automated coverage, so expertise compounds instead of evaporating.
• The quality team. You start with a junior QA engineer already in place (PR checks, automated coverage) to coach and develop, and you hire the engineers who join as we scale.
HOW WE WORK
We practise continuous delivery — small changes, daily releases to production, no release trains, no week-long manual regression marathons. If Accelerate or Continuous Delivery is on your shelf, you'll recognise the culture. Strong test infrastructure is what makes that pace safe, and owning it is the job.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 5+ years in QA / quality engineering, across deep exploratory manual testing and strong automation.
• Proven depth in frontend quality — e2e suites (Playwright, Cypress, or similar) that catch interaction-level regressions, visual regression, and real-browser verification, integrated into CI/CD.
• Experience building quality gates and release processes for teams that ship continuously.
• Active use of AI tooling in your own QA work — we'll ask how it's changed your practice in the last year.
• Ability to debug across the stack, excellent written communication, and high autonomy in a remote, high-accountability environment.
NICE TO HAVE
Distributed/asynchronous systems testing · document or PDF pipeline testing · experience with AI/LLM-driven features or evaluation concepts · legaltech, regulated-industry, or high-stakes SaaS background · experience growing a QA team.
WHAT WE OFFER
• Genuine ownership of quality — including the release decision itself — in a foundational role that shapes our engineering culture as we grow.
• Fully remote, high autonomy, direct access to the CTO and senior engineers.
• A stack you'll enjoy testing: React/TypeScript, C#/.NET, Python AI pipelines on Azure.
• €80,000–€105,000 calibrated for your location and experience.
HOW TO APPLY
Send your CV to jobs@trialview.com with a short note on one of: the hardest non-deterministic or AI-driven system you've tested and how you approached it, or how AI tooling has changed your QA practice in the past year. Our process is a focused take-home and a hands-on session — not a trivia quiz. We read every application.
TrialView is an equal-opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and make hiring decisions on merit.
