Position: General Production and Maintenance Technician

Location: Rathcor, Co. Louth

Overview

This role supports the build, maintenance, repair and improvement of XOCEAN’s USV fleet and associated equipment. The role carries out mechanical, production and maintenance activities, ensuring vessels, equipment and workspaces are maintained safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.


Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Completion of maintenance activities including in tech centres and temporary workspaces onsite.
  • Installation and fitout of mechanical systems including diesel generators & ancillaries on the USV fleet.
  • Mechanical servicing of equipment including diesel generators, marine pumps, thrusters etc.
  • Following appropriate processes and signing off on completed works.
  • Manufacture of test-equipment/jigs and fixtures.
  • Retrofit design improvements into USVs.
  • Carrying out minor GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), composite, resin, gelcoat, and structural repair work to USV hull.
  • Research & Development support on new USV technology.
  • Compliance with and execution and promotion of Health and Safety standards on site at all times.
  • Managing and maintaining Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety Standards.
  • General duties and facilities maintenance as required.


Key Skills, Attributes and experience

  • Marine experience
  • Full clean driving license


Desirable Experience

  • Prior experience of working with GRP material
  • No restrictions on international travel
