With world-class design, consultancy, and engineering capabilities, along with support and test centres globally, Taoglas delivers high-performance antenna, RF, positioning, imaging, and AI-integrated solutions across transportation, healthcare, smart cities, and industrial IoT sectors.

Our engineers are passionate about advancing technology. We seek creative, driven professionals who share our commitment to excellence and want to make a meaningful impact in a fast-moving, global environment.

Role Overview

Taoglas is expanding its presence in Japan and is seeking an experienced Field Applications Engineer to lead technical customer engagement across the Japanese market. This is a dedicated FAE role – the successful candidate will serve as the primary technical interface between Japanese customers and Taoglas’ R&D and engineering teams based in Taiwan.

The FAE will own the full customer technical journey: from pre-sales consultation and solution recommendation through to post-sales support, design-in, integration, and certification. This role is critical in establishing Taoglas’ technical credibility in Japan, driving design-in wins, and building lasting customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between Japanese customers and the Taoglas R&D and engineering teams in Taiwan, ensuring accurate and timely communication of requirements, issues, and feedback in both directions
  • Engage with prospective and existing customers to understand their RF and antenna needs, recommending standard or custom Taoglas solutions and delivering technical presentations and proposals
  • Support the sales team in opportunity qualification, technical scoping, and competitive positioning of Taoglas products in the Japanese market
  • Provide hands-on technical support through design-in, integration, debugging, and performance validation – at customer sites or remotely
  • Guide customers through device certification and regulatory compliance processes, including TELEC and MIC requirements
  • Escalate complex technical issues to Taiwan engineering and coordinate resolution, ensuring customers receive clear and timely responses
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key technical and commercial stakeholders at customer accounts, channel partners, and distributors across Japan
  • Represent Taoglas at Japanese industry events, trade shows, and technical conferences to build market presence
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, application notes, and localised customer materials relevant to the Japanese market
  • Capture customer feedback and field insights, reporting regularly to regional leadership and Taiwan R&D to inform product and roadmap decisions

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field
  • 3+ years in a Field Applications Engineering, pre-sales engineering, or customer-facing technical role within the electronics or wireless industry
  • Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, antenna technology, and wireless standards (LTE, 5G, GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth)
  • Hands-on experience with RF system integration, troubleshooting, and test equipment (VNA, spectrum analyser)
  • Familiarity with Japanese wireless certification processes (TELEC / MIC)
  • Fluent Japanese (native or near-native) and business-level English for day-to-day collaboration with the Taiwan engineering team
  • Established network of technical contacts within the Japanese electronics, IoT, automotive, or industrial sectors is a strong advantage

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong technical aptitude combined with excellent customer-facing communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex RF engineering concepts into clear, practical guidance for customers
  • Culturally aware and experienced in conducting business in Japan
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple customer engagements simultaneously
  • Collaborative team player – comfortable working across time zones with a remote engineering team
  • Proactive in identifying customer needs and proposing solutions independently
